Following the infamous a capella at the BET Awards and “Walk On Water” featuring Beyoncé released last month, Eminem dropped his latest track from his forthcoming album Revival on November 7th.
The track “Untouchable”, is a politically charged boombap tune featuring a sample from Cheech & Chong’s comedy rock song, "Earache My Eye", which comes across as a bit of tongue-in-cheek considering the hard-hitting lyrics about racial inequality.
In the third verse Eminem mentions Die Antwoord saying: “I’d rather hear ‘em say ‘Die N-word’ than Die Antwoord / Ninja, now it’s better disguised banter.”
While it might not be considered a diss to the South African “Zef” duo, Ninja and Yo-Landi Visser came back at Eminem for the deliberate mispronunciation of their band name on Instagram.
Yo-Landi says to Eminem in the video: "Okay, so like, how would you feel if I called you Eeminem? Okay, your name's Eminem but I call you Eeminem, just because it rhymes with something you know."
Ninja also chimed in with a rhyme of his own saying: "Eeminem went to jail and got a bit of semen in his bum and was never seen again.”
While the duo didn't seem too phased by the track, it has definitely brought some attention to Em’s upcoming album, and Die Antwoord might have just lent a helping hand to the “rap god”.
